As we are now approaching the launch date for the brand spanking new AirTV we are adding the finishing touches to what we have called 'stage 1'. Stage 1 includes basic functionality; watch videos, news, podcasts etc that will allow users of the website to obtain content easily.
However, if anyone notices any problems then please let us know so that we can rectify them.

Development has started today 04/02/10 on the new AirTV website. The reason why I will be keeping a continous log of all the developments that occur is because it can be used as test data to display on the site.This is why you might be reading this news report on a section other than news.
So now for the techno babble. Wondering how I managed to perform the home sub header image change? With great difficulty is how.
Firstly you need to parse the HQDEFAULT preview image from an youtube RSS feed and then using GD libraries imagecopy() functions combine the image with a transparent gradient effect image. However that youtube preview image may not be suitable, so first you need to crop it before imagecopy()'ing it, again using functions from GD's library. This unfortunately has one side effect, that being the lag. When a user hovers there mouse over a different option it loads the preview image, crops it, combines it with the transparent image and then loads it. This inevitably causes a 2 second delay in hover->display. But the effect is just too awesome to not to use it.
